COL BKB: Ohio St. 73, Northwestern 41

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Mike Conley had 17 points and 10 assists Wednesday night, guiding the No. 7 Ohio State Buckeyes to a 73-41 Big Ten victory over the Northwestern Wildcats.

Ohio State used bursts at the beginning of each half to improve to 12-0 at home this season. The Buckeyes are 15-3 overall and 3-1 in the Big Ten.

Northwestern is 10-8, having lost all five of its conference games this season.

The Buckeyes opened the game with a 5-0 run and later scored eight straight points to lead 15-4 with 12:15 left in the half. Ohio State led 34-15 by intermission.

Ohio State posted a 13-3 spurt in the opening minutes of the second half to go up by 29 points. The Buckeyes led by as many as 35 in the game.

Jamar Butler had 16 points to support Conley. Greg Oden managed just five points but chipped in six rebounds and five blocked shots.

Craig Moore had 11 points to lead Northwestern.
