NHL: Minnesota 4, Chicago 3 (SO)

CHICAGO, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Pavol Demitra scored the only goal of a shootout Sunday night as the Minnesota Wild rallied to defeat Chicago, 4-3.

Demitra produced a goal in the shootout's first round and Nikolai Khabibulin made it stand up as the Wild won its third straight and handed Chicago its sixth consecutive loss.

The Blackhawks took a 3-1 lead midway through the second period, but Minnesota came up with a shorthanded goal from Marian Gaborik late in the period and Wes Walz tied it with the only goal of the third period.

Manny Fernandez made 37 saves in regulation play, but still suffered the loss.
