COL BKB: Wisconsin 56, Northwestern 50

EVANSTON, Ill., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Alando Tucker and Kammron Taylor both hit two free throws in the final minute Saturday as No. 4 Wisconsin fought off Northwestern, 56-50.

The game was tight throughout the second half before Wisconsin inched in front down the stretch.

Tucker scored 17 points for the Badgers -- 15 in the second half -- and Taylor had 12. Wisconsin improved to 17-1 and to 3-0 in the Big Ten Conference.

Northwestern (10-7, 0-4) was led by Jeff Ryan, who scored 18 points and who hit a three-pointer with 51 seconds that brought the Wildcats within two points.
