COL BKB: Arizona 83, Oregon St. 72

TUCSON, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- A career-best 27-point effort by Marcus Williams carried eighth-ranked Arizona to an 83-72 victory over Oregon State Thursday night.

The Wildcats bounced back from their first conference loss of the season -- an overtime setback at Washington State last weekend. They improved to 13-2 for the season and to 4-1 in the Pac-10 Conference.

Oregon State (8-9, 0-4) has lost 25 straight games on Arizona's home floor. The Beavers were led by Marcel Jones with 26 points.

Arizona scored the game's first 10 points and took a 15-point lead at intermission.
