LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Edmonton edged Los Angeles, 2-1, Monday as Jan Hejda scored the game-winning goal 1:14 into overtime.

In the extra session, Ryan Smyth fed the puck from the right circle to Hejda, who met it at the left side of the net and tipped the disk past a sprawled-out Mathieu Garon for the win.

Jarret Stoll also scored for the Oilers, who have won six of the last eight against Los Angeles. Goalie Dwayne Roloson made 34 saves, including 14 in the third period for his 17th win of the season.

Konstantin Pushkarev tallied the lone goal for the Kings, who had a two-game winning streak halted. Garon stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced in the loss.
