VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Kevin Bieksa scored on a slap-shot 1:17 into overtime Friday night, giving the Vancouver Canucks a 3-2 victory over Edmonton.
The Canucks coughed up the lead late in regulation, but went on to record their sixth straight win.

Daniel Sedin put Vancouver in front 5:08 into the third period and Roberto Luongo appeared ready to make the lead stand up. But Petr Sykora tied it with 2:56 remaining in the third period.
Matt Cooke put Vancouver in front in the second period, but Fernando Pisani drew Edmonton even 79 seconds later.
