SEATTLE, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Jordan Babineaux made a game-saving tackle after a botched field goal attempt Saturday night, giving the Seattle Seahawks a bizarre 21-20 win over Dallas.
The playoff triumph moved the Seahawks into the divisional round against either New Orleans or Chicago. The Cowboys were denied their first post-season win in a decade.
Seattle's winning points came on a 37-yard throw from Matt Hasselbeck to Jerramy Stevens with 4:24 to play. The score ended a wild sequence in which the Cowboys made a goal-line stand and then coughed up a safety that was originally ruled a touchdown before being overruled by official review.
After giving up the lead, the Cowboys drove to the Seattle two-yard line and set up for a short field goal try with 1:19 to go. Tony Romo, Dallas' Pro Bowl quarterback, fumbled the hold -- and almost ran for a touchdown, but Babineaux tripped him up two yards short of the goal line.
The lead changed hands four times, once when Dallas' Miles Austin returned a kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown midway through the third quarter.
