COL BKB: Washington 64, Arizona St. 53

SEATTLE, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Ryan Appleby scored 20 points Saturday to lead the 20th-ranked Washington Huskies to a 64-53 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Appleby hit 6-of-8 three-pointers to help the Huskies (11-4, 1-3 Pac-10) end a three-game losing streak. Jon Brockman added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Washington.

Jeff Pendergraph had 18 points and eight rebounds for the Sun Devils (6-9, 0-4), who have lost five in a row. Derek Glasser added 13 points for Arizona State, which is winless in conference play.

Midway the second half, the Huskies had a 10-4 run for a 53-44 lead with 4:42 left.
