NHL: Pittsburgh 4, Buffalo 2

BUFFALO, N.Y., Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Marc-Andre Fleury made 31 saves Friday night as the Pittsburgh Penguins won their third straight, 4-2, over Buffalo.

Buffalo had defeated Pittsburgh in their five previous meetings.

Evgeni Malkin came up with the game-winning goal late in the second period, while Jordan Staal and Ryan Whitney both scored and contributed an assist for the Penguins.

Derek Roy and Chris Drury scored for the Sabres.

Malkin's go-ahead goal on a slap-shot came with just 2.3 seconds left in the second period. Dominic Moore scored on an empty-netter in the final seconds of the game.
