EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Two goals from Zach Parise and 40 saves by Martin Brodeur helped give the New Jersey Devils a 4-3 decision over the New York Islanders Thursday night.
Patrik Elias and Sergei Brylin contributed the other two goals for the Devils, unbeaten in their last five games (4
1).

It was the fifth consecutive loss for the Islanders. Rick DiPietro gave up four goals on 26 shots.
Parise and Brylin scored 15 seconds apart in the opening three minutes to put New Jersey in control.
