NHL: N.Y. Rangers 3, Philadelphia 2

NEW YORK, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Martin Straka scored all of New York's goals Thursday night and the Rangers held on to down Philadelphia, 3-2.

The Rangers won their third straight and ended a Flyers' three-game winning streak.

Henrik Lundqvist made 22 saves for the Rangers while Philadelphia goaltender Robert Esche recorded an assist in addition to his 26 saves.

Straka recorded the sixth hat trick of his career.

The first goal came on a one-timer 4:15 into the opening period. He scored at 5:29 of the second and then finished off the hat trick seven minutes into the final stanza.
