Phoenix, Ottawa in swap of centers

PHOENIX, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- The Phoenix Coyotes acquired Alexei Kaigorodov from the Ottawa Senators for Mike Comrie in a trade of NHL centers, the teams said Wednesday.

Kaigorodov, 23, has played six games for Ottawa this season, earning one assist. He spent the bulk of the season with Magnitogorsk in Russia.

Comrie, 26, appeared in 24 games for Phoenix. He scored seven goals and has 13 assists this season. In three seasons and 132 games with the Coyotes, Comrie has a total of 45 goals and 50 assists.
