COL FB: Louisville 24, Wake Forest 13

MIAMI, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Sixth-ranked Louisville toppled No. 15 Wake Forest, 24-13, at the Orange Bowl Tuesday.

Anthony Allen scored the go-ahead touchdown on a one-yard run early in the fourth quarter, and Brian Brohm threw for 311 yards for the Cardinals (12-1).

Brohm was named the game's MVP.

Louisville, coming off its first Big East championship, won 12 games for the first time in school history.

Harry Douglas had 10 catches for 165 yards for the Cardinals. William Gay forced a fumble late in the third quarter and came up with an interception with 2:53 remaining in the game to seal Louisville's victory in its first trip to a BCS game.

Riley Skinner threw for 272 yards for the Demon Deacons (11-3), who were coming off their first ACC championship since 1970.
