Jacksonville's passing game finished 24th in the league this season.

"I appreciate the effort each of these men gave during their time here," Jacksonville head Coach Jack Del Rio said. "These decisions are always very difficult, but any decision that is made is done solely from the desire to win football games."

Smith, who coached 17 seasons in the NFL and 14 years at the college level, served as the Jags' offensive coordinator for the last two seasons. He held that position for the New Orleans Saints from 1986-96.

Rodriguez led the special teams for the last three seasons, capping 19 years of NFL coaching experience.
