
PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 1 (UPI) -- John David Booty passed for 391 yards and four touchdowns Monday as eighth-ranked Southern Cal beat third-ranked Michigan, 32-18, in the Rose Bowl.
Dwayne Jarrett caught 11 passes for 205 yards with two scores as Southern California dominated the second half.
Booty completed 27-of-45 passes without an interception. Steve Smith had seven catches for 108 yards and a touchdown for the Trojans (11-2), who have won 56 of their last 60 games.
USC, which played in its record 31st Rose Bowl, snapped a two-game losing streak in Pasadena, Calif., with the most recent loss coming against UCLA Dec. 2.
Chad Henne completed 26 of 41 passes for 309 yards with two touchdowns and one interception for the Wolverines (11-2), who were coming off a 42-39 loss to top-ranked Ohio State -- their only setback of the regular season.
Michigan was playing in its third BCS Bowl in the past four seasons.
