NBA: Chicago 103, Cleveland 96

CHICAGO, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Luol Deng scored a career-high 32 points Saturday night as the Chicago Bulls topped Cleveland, 103-96.

Chicago gave up only 14 points in the third quarter while scoring 18 straight points to take a 78-67 lead into the game's final 12 minutes, after a 56-53 halftime deficit.

Ben Gordon had 21 points and seven assists for Chicago. P.J. Brown had 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Malik Allen had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Bulls, who have won three straight and nine of their last 11 games.

LeBron James had 33 points and nine rebounds to lead Cleveland.

Larry Hughes had 15 points and three rebounds, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 14 points and nine rebounds. Donyell Marshall had 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists for the Cavaliers, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

They had won their past five games against the Bulls.
