COL BKB: North Carolina 81, Dayton 51

CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- The second-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels coasted Sunday to an 81-51 victory over the Dayton Flyers.

Tyler Hansbrough scored 17 points and Brandan Wright 16 on 8-of-9 shooting for the Tar Heels (12-1), who won their ninth straight. Wayne Ellington added 15 points in the rout.

Marcus Johnson and Brian Roberts each scored 14 points for the Flyers (10-3).

North Carolina jumped on Dayton from the tip, scoring 12 of the game's first 14 points.
