
SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Colt McCoy passed for 308 yards and two TDs Saturday to lead the Texas Longhorns to a 26-24 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.
Jamaal Charles and Limas Sweed each had a touchdown receiving for the Longhorns (10-3), who won their third straight bowl game. Last year they won, 41-38, over USC in the Rose Bowl for the National Championship.
Selvin Young had a touchdown on the ground. Quan Cosby had seven catches for 59 yards to go with a big kickoff return for Texas.
Drew Tate was 15-for-25 with 273 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and Andy Brodell had six catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns for the Hawkeyes (6-7), who lost six of their last seven games.
Albert Young carried the ball 13 times for 66 yards and a TD for Iowa, which was appearing in its sixth straight bowl game.
