COL FB: Rutgers 37, Kansas State 10

HOUSTON, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Mike Teel threw two touchdown passes Thursday night as Rutgers drubbed Kansas State, 37-10, at the Texas Bowl in Houston.

Overall, Teel completed 16 of 28 passes for 268 yards to help the Scarlet Knights finish with a mark of 11-2.

Ray Rice scored once on 24 carries for 170 yards; Clark Harris made seven receptions for 122 yards; Tim Brown caught both of Teel's scoring passes on four catches for 101 yards; while Jeremy Ito kicked three field goals as Rutgers won its first bowl game in the program's 137-year history.

Josh Freeman went 10-for-21 passing for 129 yards and two interceptions; Yamon Figurs returned punt for 76 yards for a touchdown; and Jordy Nelson caught five passes for 81 yards for the Wildcats (7-6), who have lost three of their last four bowl games and had a three-game winning streak snapped to end this season.
