DETROIT, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Dan LeFevour threw for 162 yards and a touchdown as Central Michigan rolled to a 31-14 win over Middle Tennessee State in the Motor City Bowl Tuesday night.
LeFavour also ran for 69 yards and a touchdown as the Chippewas out-rushed Middle Tennessee 149 yards to 61 in front of a partisan crowd in Detroit.
Ontario Sneed was a favorite target of LeFevour, catching six passes for 48 yards and running for another 48.
Blue Raiders quarterback Clint Marks put up better numbers than LeFevour -- 25 of 37 for 251 yards -- but he also threw a pair of interceptions. One pick was returned 56 yards by Doug Kress for a touchdown that gave Central a 28-7 lead in the third quarter.
Central Michigan took a 7-0 on the opening drive of the game, marching 69 yards in just nine plays and capping it with Sneed's 1-yard TD run.
Middle Tennessee fell in its first Division I-A bowl game and lost its third consecutive game. Eugene Gross and DeMarco McNair scored the Raiders' two touchdowns.
