
PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Daniel Alfredsson had two goals and one assist Saturday afternoon as Ottawa downed the Philadelphia Flyers, 6-3.
The Senators trailed, 2-1, at the first intermission, and tied the score at 3-3 heading into the second break.
They scored three times in the third period, when Alfredsson scored twice, to hand the Flyers their franchise-record ninth straight loss.
Joe Corvo, Chris Phillips, Denis Hamel and Peter Schaefer also scored; Anton Volchenkov and Dany Heatley had two assists; and Martin Gerber made 26 saves on 29 shots for the Senators, who have split their last four games.
Ben Eager and Jeff Carter scored in the first period to give the Flyers their 2-1 lead.
Kyle Calder scored a goal in the second period to tie the score at 3-3; and Antero Niittymaki gave up five goals on 41 shots for the Flyers.
Ottawa had two power play goals; and the Flyers had none.
