
CLEVELAND, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Chauncey Billups had 17 points and 10 assists Thursday night as Detroit beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, 87-71.
Detroit held a small 57-55 lead heading into the fourth quarter, when it out-scored Cleveland, 30-16, to build its 16-point winning margin.
Tayshaun Prince had 16 points and eight rebounds; Richard Hamilton had 11 points and six rebounds; Antonio McDyess had 11 points, 11 rebounds, and two steals; and Jason Maxiell added 11 points for the Pistons, who have won three straight and five of their last six games.
LeBron James totaled 26 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and two steals; Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 16 points and six rebounds; while Larry Hughes had 12 points, eight rebounds, and four assists for the Cavaliers, who dropped three games in a row after suffering just the third loss in 14 home games to date.
