
LAS VEGAS, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Quarterback John Beck accounted for three touchdowns Thursday night as Brigham Young ripped Oregon, 38-8, in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Overall, Beck threw for two touchdowns on 27-for-46 passing for 363 yards and two interceptions and added a score on a 14-yard run in the fourth quarter; Curtis Brown scored twice on 18 carries for 122 yards. Johnny Harline caught a touchdown pass on nine receptions for 182 yards for the 20th-ranked Cougars (11-2), who broke a four-game bowl losing streak to finish the season with a nine-game winning streak.
Dennis Dixon threw for one touchdown on 10-for-20 passing for 122 yards and one interception; back-up quarterback Brady Leaf was 6-for-14 for 42 yards and one interception; while Dennis Dixon gained 56 yards on nine carries for the Ducks (7-6), who lost their final four games.
