
MONTREAL, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Four players each scored one goal Thursday night as Montreal beat the Philadelphia Flyers, 4-2.
Guillaume Latendresse and Craig Rivet scored power play goals to give Montreal a 2-0 lead in the second period.
Mike Johnson scored unassisted at 19:11 of the second period to give Montreal a 3-2 advantage after two periods; and Christopher Higgins scored at 13:57 in the third to cap the scoring.
Andrei Markov had two assists; and goalie David Aebischer gave up two goals on 28 shots for the Canadiens, who have a five-game winning streak.
Mike Knuble and Jeff Carter scored once each; while Antero Niittymaki was beaten four times on 37 shots for the Flyers, whose franchise-record losing streak rose to eight games in a row.
On the power play, Montreal went 2-for-8; and Philadelphia was 2-for-5.
