NHL: Florida 3, N.Y. Rangers 2

SUNRISE, Fla., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Florida did all of its scoring in the third period Thursday night to rally for a 3-2 win over the New York Rangers.

At 11:10 of the final period, a goal by Rostislav Olesz broke a 2-2 tie and was the game-winner.

Olesz assisted on a power play goal by Chris Gatton earlier in the period; and goalie Ed Belfour made 30 saves on 32 shots for the Panthers, who won their third straight game.

Brad Isbister scored at 19:56 of the first period to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead at the first intermission; and a goal by Jason Ward at 4:13 of the second period gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead at the second intermission.

Kevin Weekes allowed three goals on 36 shots for the Rangers, who suffered their fourth straight loss.

On the power play, Florida went 1-for-4; and the Rangers went 1-for-9.
