TUCSON, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Mustafa Shakur had 23 points and six rebounds Wednesday might to help 9th-ranked Arizona beat No. 18 Memphis, 79-71.
The Wildcats overcame a five-point halftime deficit to out-score Memphis, 46-33, in the second half.
Ivan Radenovic and Chase Budinger scored 18 points apiece; Marcus Williams had seven points, six rebounds, and three assists; and Radenovic also had six rebounds for the Wildcats (9-1), who have won nine games in a row since their season-opening setback at Virginia on Nov. 12.
Jeremy Hunt had 21 points, four rebounds, and three assists; Andre Allen scored 15 points; and Kareem Cooper had 11 points and six rebounds for the Tigers (8-3), who had won their last two games and lost for just the second time in eight games.
Memphis came within 58-55 with about 11 minutes remaining, but that was the closest the Tigers would come to regaining control of the contest.
