NHL: Montreal 5, Buffalo 2

BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Chris Higgins scored a pair of goals Tuesday night to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 5-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

Sheldon Souray had two assists and Cristobal Huet stopped 42 shots for Montreal, who have won four games in a row. Ales Kotalik and Jaroslav Spacek each scored goals for Buffalo and Ryan Miller had 24 saves in defeat.

Kotalik scored just 34 seconds into the game to give the Sabres the lead, but Montreal then scored three straight goals.
