SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Anze Kopitar scored twice within a two-minute span of the first period
Thursday night and the Los Angeles Kings went on to beat San Jose, 4-2.
Mike Cammalleri and Derek Armstrong scored the other Kings' goals and rookie goaltender Barry Brust put up 34 saves to get his first career victory.
Christian Ehrhoff and Mike Grier scored for the Sharks, who came into the contest on a three-game winning streak. Vesa Toskala yielded four goals on 31 shots.
Kopitar scored at 5:05 of the first when he put back a rebound off a shot by Kevin Dallman. Less than two minutes later -- with the Kings playing shorthanded -- Kopitar scored again on a pass from Alex Frolov.
The Kings were up, 4-0, and the third period was half done before the Sharks got on the board with Erhoff's power-play goal. San Jose made it 4-2 when Grier scored at 16:37 of the third.
