NHL: N.Y. Rangers 5, Dallas 2

DALLAS, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Matt Cullen and Karel Rachunek scored two goals each and the New York Rangers used a three-goal third period Thursday night to beat Dallas, 5-2.

The Rangers took a 2-1 lead into the third period, and then got goals from Cullen, Rachunek and Fedor Tyutin, who scored an empty-netter with one minute to play.

Jarkko Immonen and Brendan Shanahan each had two assists and Henrik Lundqvist allowed two goals on 45 shots for the Rangers, who extended their winning streak to five games.

Sergei Zubov gave Dallas a 1-0 lead in the first period and Philippe Boucher scored in the third period to cut the Stars' deficit to 3-2. Goalie Mike Smith gave up four goals on 19 shots before he was replaced by Marty Turco for the Stars, who have dropped three of their last four games.

On the power play, Dallas was 2-for-11, while the Rangers went 1-for-4.
