NHL: Pittsburgh 4, Atlanta 3 (OT)

ATLANTA, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Colby Armstrong scored with 1:09 left in overtime Saturday night as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Atlanta Thrashers, 4-3.

The overtime was set up when Atlanta's Niko Kapanen scored at 15:02 of the third period to tie the game at 3-3.

Rookie scoring sensation Evgeni Malkin had a goal and two assists for Pittsburgh. Sidney Crosby and Ryan Whitney both scored once, and Marc-Andre Fleury gave up three goals on 23 shots for the Penguins, who broke a four-game losing streak.

They had lost three in a row to Atlanta.

Kapanen, Marian Hossa and Shane Hnidy each had one goal for Atlanta. Slava Kozlov had two assists, and Kari Lehtonen made 39 saves on 43 shots for the Thrashers, who lost two in a row after a five-game winning streak.

On the power play, Pittsburgh was 2-for-4, and Atlanta went 1-for-6.
