COL BKB: Syracuse 79, Colgate 52

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Demetris Nichols scored 28 points Saturday and the 21st-ranked Syracuse Orange pulled away in the second half in a 79-52 victory over the Colgate Raiders.

Andy Rautins added 13 points and Terrence Roberts had 12 points and eight rebounds for the Orange (8-2), who beat the Raiders for the 41st straight time.

Nichols made a school-record six consecutive three-pointers in the second half.

Kyle Chones had 18 points for Colgate (4-4), which struggled in the second half -- hitting just 8-of-31 from the field -- after Syracuse led by just five points at the half.
