Argentina leads the World Golf tournament

ST. JAMES, Barbados, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- The team from Argentina has a three-shot lead halfway through the World Golf Championship in St. James, Barbados.

In Friday foursomes, Argentina -- represented by Andres Romero and Angel Cabrera -- shot 4-under 67 for a 36-hole total of 11-under 131.

Teams from Scotland composed of Marc Warren and Colin Montgomerie; Sweden, Carl Petterson and Henrik Swenson; and Germany, Bernhard Langer and Marcel Siem, are tied for second at 8-under-par 134.

On Friday, Scotland had a score of 4-under 67, Germany shot 2-under 69 and Sweden shot 1-under 70.

Spain, represented by Miguel A. Jiminez and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, which had the day's best score of 5-under 66, is tied for fifth place with South Africa's Rory Sabbatini and Richard Sterne at 7-under 135.

The South Africans shot even-par 71 in the second round.
