Tomlinson earns monthly NFL player honor

NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- San Diego running back LaDainian Tomlinson Thursday was among the NFL Players of the Month for November.

The six-year veteran from TCU, who is poised to set a single-season record for touchdowns, scored 13 touchdowns, more than twice as many as any other player during the month.

He scored at least three times and rushed for more than 100 yards in all four games.

Tomlinson was the AFC Offensive Player of the month, and was joined by Miami end Jason Taylor (defense) and Buffalo punter Brian Moorman (special teams).

Their NFC counterparts were Dallas quarterback Tony Romo (offense), cornerback Walt Harris of San Francisco (defense), and Seattle kick returner Nate Burleson (special teams).

Romo threw nine touchdown passes and had an NFL-best 124.7 passer rating.

Taylor returned two interceptions for touchdowns, forced three fumbles, and made nine tackles and two sacks.

Burleson had one touchdown on 14 punt returns for 193 yards.

Harris had 19 tackles and three interceptions.
