NBA: San Antonio 96, Charlotte 76

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan scored 24 points and San Antonio overcame a seven-point first-quarter deficit Wednesday night to clobber the Charlotte Bobcats, 96-76.

Charlotte had a 22-15 lead late in the first quarter before the Spurs began to build momentum with a 7-1 spurt to cut the deficit to 23-22, heading into the second.

By halftime, San Antonio led, 48-42. The Spurs used a late 8-0 run in the third quarter to seize control of the contest.

Duncan finished with four rebounds and three assists, and Manu Ginobili had 13 points and five assists for San Antonio. Michael Finley had 11 points and six rebounds; and Tony Parker had 10 points, three rebounds and five assists for the Spurs, who have won eight of their last 11 games.

Sean May had 18 points and seven rebounds for Charlotte. Gerald Wallace had 15 points and seven rebounds; and Raymond Felton added 13 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Bobcats, who have lost three of their last four games.
