SYRACUSE, N.Y., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Kyle Wilson scored 17 points Saturday as the 22nd-ranked Wichita State Shockers defeated the 14th-ranked Syracuse Orangemen, 64-61.

Syracuse's Demetris Nichols missed a last-minute lay-up and Wichita State's P.J. Couisnard blocked Eric Devendorf's final-seconds three-point shot.

Syracuse (7-1) fought back from what had been shaping up as a blowout with an intense full-court press in the second half that forced a number of Shockers turnovers.

Sean Ogirri scored 16 points for Wichita State (6-0).

Terrence Roberts had 14 points and 12 rebounds for Syracuse, which also had 14 points from Paul Harris.
