NEW YORK, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the 12th week of the NFL season.
The four-year veteran tied a franchise record with five touchdown passes in the Cowboys' 38-10 rout of Tampa Bay on Thanksgiving Day. After starting the season as the back-up to Drew Bledsoe, Romo has thrown 13 touchdown passes on 125-for-180 passing for 1,656 yards.
He was joined in the NFC by Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor (defense) and place-kicker Josh Brown of Seattle (special teams).
Taylor had six tackles and one interception in Washington's 17-13 victory over Carolina.
He prevented a crucial first down with 2:16 remaining when Carolina's Drew Carter caught a short pass on 4th-and-6, but got stopped by Taylor two yards short of the marker, then sealed the win with an interception on the Panthers' final drive.
Brown kicked four field goals as the Seahawks beat Green Bay, 34-24.
