NHL: Ottawa 4, Carolina 1

RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Martin Gerber beat the club he won the Stanley Cup with last year as he stopped 29 shots Tuesday to lead Ottawa over Carolina, 4-1.

In his only season with the Hurricanes last year, Gerber went 38-14-6 with a 2.78 goals-against average in 60 regular season games. A free agent at the end of the season, Gerber signed a three-year contract with Ottawa.

Mike Fisher had a goal and an assist, while Patrick Eaves, Christoph Schubert and Chris Neil also scored for the Senators, who have won five of their last six games.

Andrew Ladd scored the only goal for the Hurricanes, who have lost three of their last four games. John Grahame yielded all four Ottawa goals on 36 shots.
