NHL: Nashville 6, Detroit 2

NASHVILLE, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Marek Zidlicky had a goal and had two assists Saturday night as Nashville beat the Detroit Red Wings, 6-2.

Nashville exploded for five goals in the second period to settle the issue.

After that binge, they had a 6-1 lead heading into the second intermission.

In that period, both Zidlicky and Scott Hartnell scored power-play goals.

Kimmo Timonen added a goal and an assist and Steve Sullivan had three assists, while goalie Chris Mason gave up two goals on 34 shots -- as the Predators won for the fourth time in their last five games.

Mason played for the injured Tomas Vokoun, who will miss 4-6 weeks with a torn ligament in his left thumb.

He is slated to undergo surgery early next week.

Robert Lang had a goal and an assist, Henrik Zetterberg also scored once, and Joey MacDonald gave up six goals on 27 shots for the Red Wings, whose losing streak grew to five straight games.
