NEW YORK, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- San Francisco running back Frank Gore was selected the NFC offensive player of the week after posting a franchise-record effort last week.
Carolina defensive end Mike Rucker was chosen the conference's defensive player of the week while the NFL Week 11 special teams honor went to Dallas punter Mat McBriar.
Gore piled up a team-record 212 yards on 24 carries last Sunday in helping the 49ers to a 20-14 victory over NFC West rival Seattle. The win pulled San Francisco within one game of the division-leading Seahawks.
Rucker had four tackles and one of his two sacks went for a safety as the Panthers stopped St. Louis 15-0. Rucker's two sacks were part of a team-record seven the Panthers had in the game.
McBriar kept Indianapolis pinned deep in its own end of the field and the Cowboys capitalized for a 21-14 victory that marked the first loss of the season for the Colts. McBriar averaged 46.7 yards a punt in the game.
