NHL: Buffalo 7, Tampa Bay 2

BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Paul Gaustad had two goals and an assist Monday as the Buffalo Sabres scored seven second-period goals to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning, 7-2.

Thomas Vanek also scored a pair of goals for the Sabres. Jiri Novotny, Jaroslav Spacek and Chris Drury also scored, and Ales Kotalik added three assists. Ryan Miller stopped 24-of-26 shots.

Martin St. Louis scored the two goals for the Lightning, who have lost three of four. Marc Denis blocked 22-of-29 shots.

Buffalo exploded for seven straight goals on their first 11 shots of the second period.
