WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Valdas Vasylius scored 16 points and Old Dominion out-scored eighth-ranked Georgetown by 17 points in the second half Sunday to upset the Hoyas, 75-62.
Vasylius also pulled down six rebounds. Arnaud Dahi had 15 points and six rebounds; Brandon Johnson had 14 points, three rebounds and five assists; and Jonathan Adams had 10 points and three rebounds for the Monarchs (4-1), who beat a ranked team for the first time since knocking off Villanova in the 1995 NCAA Tournament.
Roy Hibbert had 17 points and eight rebounds for Georgetown. Jessie Sapp had 16 points, three assists and two steals; and Jonathan Wallace had 13 points and five assists for the Hoyas (2-1), who had a 24-year winning streak at their tiny, on-campus McDonough Arena broken.
They normally play at the Verizon Center, the home of the Washington Wizards.
The Monarchs, who trailed, 31-27, at halftime, out-rebounded Georgetown, 31-27.
