ANAHEIM, Calif., Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Chris Kunitz posted his first career hat trick, and his third goal turned out to be the game winner Sunday as the Anaheim Ducks beat the Phoenix Coyotes, 6-4.
Andy McDonald had two goals and two assists, and Teemu Selanne had a career-high five assists for the Ducks, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 24 saves for Anaheim, which is off to its best start ever with 31 points.
Ed Jovanovski had a goal and two assists, and Georges Laraque had a goal and an assist for the Coyotes, who lost their second straight game. Curtis Joseph made 24 saves.
Michael Zigomanis tied the game at 4-4 at 2:07 of the third period, but Kunitz scored the decisive goal at 9:21 -- his team-leading 13th goal of the season -- when he ticked Sellane's shot from the point past Joseph and into the net.
After Phoenix pulled Joseph, Rob Niedermayer put the puck into an empty net with three seconds left on the clock.
Phoenix was 3-for-4 on the power play, while Anaheim was 2-for-5.
