CHESTNUT HILL, Mass., Nov. 18 (UPI) -- JoLonn Dunbar scored twice on first quarter fumble recoveries Saturday afternoon as 20th-ranked Boston College downed No. 21 Maryland, 38-16.
Quarterback Matt Ryan threw two touchdown passes on 19-for-29 passing for 249 yards; L.V. Whitworth gained 100 yards on 21 carries; Tony Gonzalez and Brandon Robinson both caught touchdown passes and DeJuan Tribble scored on a 41-yard interception return for the Eagles (9-2, 5-2 ACC Atlantic).
Josh Allen ran for one touchdown; Dan Ennis kicked three field goals and Sam Hollenbach went 27-for-42 for 250 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions for the Terrapins (8-3, 5-2 ACC Atlantic).
Maryland, which had won six of its previous seven games by six points or less, had a five-game winning streak snapped.
The Terps can regain a chance to play for the ACC championship by beating Wake Forest at home next Saturday.
