
PROVO, Utah, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- John Beck completed 28-of-42 passes for 464 yards and four touchdowns and ran for one TD Saturday as the No. 24 BYU Cougars beat the New Mexico Lobos 42-17.
Curtis Brown rushed for 124 yards and one TD on 13 carries, and caught five passes for 44 yards and a TD. Nathan Meikle had six catches for 111 yards and McKay Jacobson, Jonny Harline and Matt Allen also caught touchdown passes for BYU (9-2, 7-0 MWC), which has eight consecutive wins.
Chris Nelson completed 22-of-38 passes for 245 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for the Lobos. Rodney Ferguson rushed 20 times for 138 yards, while Travis Brown had six receptions for 116 yards and one score. Quincy Brown returned an interception for a touchdwn for New Mexico (5-6, 3-4 MWC).
The victory means BYU wins the Mountain West Conference title and an invitation to the Las Vegas Bowl.
