Woods moves into Dunlop Phoenix lead

MIYAZAKI, Japan, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Tiger Woods, a two-time defending champion, shot a 5-under-par 65 Friday to take the lead at the halfway point of the Dunlop Phoenix golf tournament in Japan.

Woods is at 8-under-par 132 after 36 holes and has a 1-stroke lead over Padraig Harrington, who shot 66 in the second round. Ian Poulter had a 6-under 64 for a two-round total of 134 and is in third place.

First-round leader Shingo Katayama turned in an even-par 70 Friday and is in fourth at 135 while Justin Rose pulled into fifth with a 7-under 63 Friday -- 10 strokes better than his opening round. He is at 4-under 136.

Woods' round included bogeys at Nos. 3 and 16 but balanced those against an eagle at 4 and birdies at 1, 8, 11, 13 and 18.

Harrington was more consistent in his round but he did turn in a bogey on 11. He beat par on three of his last six holes, including on No. 18 to pull within one of Woods.
