NHL: New Jersey 3, Ottawa 2

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- A goal by Zach Parise at 6:56 of the second period Friday night was the eventual game-winner as New Jersey beat the Ottawa Senators, 3-2.

Jamie Langenbrunner scored twice in the first period to stake New Jersey to a 2-0 lead at the first intermission.

Parise had two assists, Langenbrunner had one assist, and goaltender Martin Brodeur gave up two goals on 17 shots, as the Devils won for the fourth time in their last five games.

Chris Neil and Daniel Alfredsson scored goals in the third period for Ottawa, and goalie Ray Emery allowed three goals on 23 shots for the Senators, who have dropped three of their last four games.

On the power play, Ottawa went 0-for-3, while New Jersey converted its only opportunity on Langenbrunner's second goal.
