NEW YORK, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Chicago's Devin Hester, who tied an NFL record with a 108-yard return, was selected the NFC's special teams player of the week.

Dallas quarterback Tony Romo took the conference's offensive player of the week honor and Carolina's Julius Peppers earned the defensive award.

Hester returned a missed field goal 108 yards, tying a record set a year earlier by teammate Nathan Vasher, for a touchdown in helping the Bears to a 38-20 victory over the New York Giants.

Romo completed 20-of-29 passes for a career-high 308 yards and two touchdowns in guiding the Cowboys to a 27-10 victory over Arizona.

Peppers had four tackles, three sacks and three quarterback hurries as the Panthers stopped Tampa Bay 24-10.
