TV catches Texas Tech coach's slap

LUBBOCK, Texas, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Texas Tech coach Bobby Knight wasn't commenting Tuesday on video replays showing him slapping the face of forward Michael Prince for committing a turnover.

The incident was caught on videotape by ESPN during a second-half time-out, and shows Knight smacking Prince with an open right hand, the Dallas Morning News reports.

After the game, Knight complained about the poor attendance for the game Texas Tech won 86-74 over Gardner-Webb. He made no reference to slapping Prince, who scored two points in 11 minutes in the game. The victory was Knight's 871st.

Knight cut short the news conference after answering just one question in four minutes, and neither players nor school officials were available to comment on the incident, the newspaper said.
