BATON ROUGE, La., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- JaMarcus Russell was 18-of-21 for 207 yards and three touchdowns without an interception Saturday night as No. 12 LSU beat Alabama, 28-14.
Early Doucet caught seven passes for 101 yards and one TD, and Russell connected with Dwayne Bowe and Jacob Hester for TDs.
LSU (8-2, 4-2 SEC) gained 211 yards rushing, getting 79 from Keiland Williams, 64 from Hester and 36 from Russell, to win its fourth straight and preserve its slim hopes for a shot at the SEC West title.
John Parker Wilson threw for 291 yards and two touchdowns for Alabama (6-5, 2-5), which has lost two straight.
Williams scored on a 38-yard run on the game's first series. LSU scored again in the first quarter when Russell hit Doucet with a 30-yard TD pass.
The Crimson Tide drove 75 yards and scored on Wilson's 29-yard pass to Kenneth Darby, but LSU came right back with an 80-yard drive, capped by Russell's 19-yard scoring strike to Bowe.
Alabama matched that with an 80-yard scoring drive of its own, finished off by a 6-yard scoring strike from Wilson to Nikita Stover.
