
SYRACUSE, N.Y., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Eric Devendorf and Terrence Roberts scored 16 points each Saturday night as 20th-ranked Syracuse trounced Pennsylvania, 78-60.
The contest was part of the BCA Invitational at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y.
Roberts also had nine rebounds, three blocked shots, but five turnovers.
Devendorf had four assists and five turnovers.
Demetris Nichols had 12 points, six rebounds, and two steals; while Matt Gorman also scored 12 points for the Orange (2-0), who opened their men's college basketball campaign with an 83-51 win against St. Francis of New York on Friday night.
Ibrahim Jaaber had 18 points, four assists, and three rebounds; and Mark Zoller added 11 points and five rebounds for the Quakers (0-2), who had been beaten by UTEP, 69-66, on Friday night.
Syracuse won the contest despite committing 18 turnovers.
Penn had a slight 29-28 advantage in rebounding.
